Who we are

Really Cool Landscapes, officially established 2022, is the brain child of Eve Quinlan of South Florida legend. Our boutique team meets clients where they are and works intimately to craft the garden of their dreams. Just bought your starter home and want to have fresh mangos falling in a future swimming pool? Absolutely. Adore the rugged, weathered feel of a Bahamian beach shack? You got it. Care for a wild play-land for your kids and all their imaginary friends? We are just your guys. Do you (and your dog) live alone but often entertain hordes of travelers, and need a place of respite to tuck away for the weekend? We are right there with ya.

Our garden design understands that even in the greatest of years, South Floridians can’t be in their gardens all day every day. But you better believe we are sneaking in habitat for wildlife at every chance we can find. These creatures need food, water and shelter just like the rest of us. “Gone are the days of abundant south Floridian birdsong” is a phrase we NEVER want to hear!

Our carefully thought out designs incorporate native, edible and otherwise useful and interesting flora. There is no “one size fits all” garden and we want to work within the budget of our discerning clientele to plant as many trees and plants as we can. Why? Because we truly love South Florida and the true magic of this special place.

Let’s work together because we LOVE creating habitat for insects, homes for birds and squirrels and gardens which will be used and loved by your family for years to come, or until your next really cool adventure carries you off (insert Colombian ants art reference).

About me

Miami is a city with a global beat and the most interesting endemic native plants and characters you will ever know. No one knows that like Eve Quinlan . orn and raised with a pack of wild kids on South Beach in the ’90’s. Swinging from banyan trees, sneaking into the neighbors yard to steal their mangos, experiencing the joy of fruit and fun and waves and sun as only a child could. Watching caterpillars grow and fly away and become the circle of life.

After years of dedicated study that honed her skills in fine art, craft and sculpture from DASH (Design and Architecture Senior High) she found herself studying landscape architecture at The Cooper Union School Of Art in New York City. Through years of study & work in the north she would regularly come to do what we all really love to do in miami: rest and relax with family and friends. One day it all made sense, and she packed up to focus on horticulture for the rest of her life, in a place that was truly home.

She took to plants like a sponge in the ocean. It’s hard to say when she had /not/ been studying gardens. In the north she was never happier than growing blueberries in her tiiiiiiiny backyard. She would tuck away into community gardens and trek out to the beaches and outskirts of NYC like it was a job, not a hobby. She remembers gardening with her grandmother, and great grandmother, and probably the great grandmothers before that. Now she is a mother too and can’t wait to cultivate the innate joys of the earth within her baby boy and raise the next generation of earth stewards.

Once becoming a Master Gardener through University of Florida and a certified Horticulture Professional, she has dedicated almost every minute of free time studying and working with plants. She was lucky enough to spend time on staff at Fairchild Botanic Garden and on the horticulture team of historic Pinecrest Gardens, spending time clearing overgrown exotic jungle to reveal the 300 year old remnant Bald Cypress trees at the mouthwater of Snapper Creek. Talk about a total dream completed as a child going to “Parrot Jungle” on field trips. You will undoubtedly find her with a book in hand and off on an adventure to see some plant that only blooms for half a day once a year in some remote park somewhere. Or so they say ;)
